The New York Islanders picked up an additional first-round pick in the 2014 NHL draft when they sent picks Nos. 35 and 57 to the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for the 28th overall pick in the draft.
Islanders trade with Lightning to move back into first round
The New York Islanders had two of the first 28 picks in the 2014 NHL draft.
The Islanders used the pick to select Josh Ho-Sang, a skilled forward from the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League.
It's the first time the Islanders have had multiple first round picks since 2009 when they selected John Tavares and Calvin Da Haan.
Earlier in the night the Islanders selected forward Michael Dal Colle with the No. 5 overall pick.
