Often, no one remembers the assists that make up the goals that follow them. Sometimes, however, the assists on a play can be prettier than the goals they set up. Detroit Red Wings forward Justin Abdelkader gave us one such example in their game against the Los Angeles Kings.

Quite the setup.

— Stephanie (@myregularface) November 21, 2015 Abdelkader took Henrik Zetterberg's pass on his forehand and decided on flipping the puck to his backhand to make the pass to eventual goalscorer Tomas Tatar. The goal, admittedly, was on the power play, which gave Tatar the space and time to make the simple tap in look easy. Abdelkader's no-look pass from his backhand was made in a split second, however, choosing to fire the puck blindly than turn around and risk losing the puck in the process. Much nicer to look at than a textbook tap in.
