The Maple Leafs have hit a bit of bad luck with goaltender injuries this season. First, James Reimer took a groin injury and is taking his time recovering. Now, Toronto is down another netminder as fan favorite Garret Sparks left their Thursday night game against the Sharks 11 minutes in with a lower-body injury.

For once, bad netminding isn’t costing goaltenders their jobs in Toronto.


There’s no word on his return to the game or the severity of the injury, but all signs point to discomfort in his leg after San Jose’s second goal at 11:32 of the first period.
