Cal Clutterbuck shrugs off check before scoring top shelf goal for the Islanders

Kevin Bieksa was no match for Clutterbuck here.

New York Islanders alternate captain Cal Clutterbuck finally has his first goal of the month after putting together a tremendous individual effort to keep the puck away from the visiting Anaheim Ducks on a rush down the ice.

With the Islanders down in an early 1-0 hole to the Ducks, Clutterbuck was able to bounce off a hip check from defender Kevin Bieksa as he was making his way through Anaheim's zone. The forward managed to keep control of the puck before pulling a few stickhandling moves on the Ducks defenders standing still in front of the net. Clutterbuck hoisted the puck over the shoulder of a frozen Frederik Andersen from the red line at the side of the cage to tie the game at 1-1 late in the first.

With hands like that, it's a surprise that the goal was just Clutterbuck's seventh of the season.
