The United States is back in action on Wednesday after a 1-0 shutout loss to Sweden to start the week, which has them hanging in the third spot in Group A behind rival Canada with a game in hand. Speaking of Canada, a 3-2 shootout win over Switzerland on Tuesday gave them their first win of the tournament, squeaking by the opponents the Americans will face in about six hours or so.

The United States is back in action while the Czech Republic looks to tighten the gap in Group B between them and Russia.


Only one other match was played on Tuesday, with Russia taking Belarus to town in a 4-1 victory that has the Russians sitting pretty on top of Group B with a four-point lead. Wednesday’s games will give teams the chance to close the gaps at the top of the leaderboards, with the Czech Republic facing off against Belarus and the Czechs four points behind the Russians.
Group A’s best Sweden will play Denmark while Slovakia and home country Finland will round off the Wednesday matches. For American fans, all eyes will surely be on their match against Switzerland at 1 p.m. as Team USA looks to rebound from their shutout loss two days prior.
