Denmark vs. USA 2016 live stream: Time and TV schedule

On the heels of a 10-1 blowout, the United States faces one last test in Denmark.

Denmark must be praying that the United States will take it a bit easier on this Thursday morning compared to their game against Switzerland a day prior. Team USA shook off a stumbling one-goal shutout loss to Sweden on Monday in a 10-goal explosion that saw the United States post the most goals in one 60-minute match so far this tournament.

Eleven players had points for the United States and Auston Matthews led the pack with two goals and two assists in the rout. The Americans had a stellar 30.3-percent shooting percentage, essentially scoring on almost one of every three shots they had against the Swiss. It’s the game the United States needed to break them out of the head space of that shutout loss and reassure fans that they’re in no way effected by that match.

Netminder Alex Nedeljkovic turned away all but one shot in a 27-save performance for the Americans, shutting the door while Team USA posted six goals in just the first 20 minutes alone. A four-goal second was the last the United States would get on the board, with Timo Meier the only outlying goal for Switzerland.

The win gave the United States a one point lead over Canada in the standings as they sit at six points with two wins and one loss. How Team USA fares against Denmark, who were also shutout by the Swedes in a 5-0 contest Wednesday, really only matters for where they will stand in the final rankings. It’s probably safe to say that Denmark won’t get blown out of the water like Switzerland did, and with a top three finish guaranteed in Group A, expect less frustration and more game planning for the elimination rounds ahead.
