On Friday, the Chicago Blackhawks made an unexpected trade when they acquired Kimmo Timonen for a couple of draft picks. The veteran D-man could go a long way towards improving Chicago's chances this spring, but GM Stan Bowman doesn't appear satisfied with his roster just yet.
Chicago Blackhawks shopping Patrick Sharp, per report
Stan Bowman could make some more noise before Monday’s deadline.

According to the Chicago Tribune's Chris Kuc, the 'Hawks have been speaking to the Washington Capitals about a trade involving center Patrick Sharp, who is in the midst of his worst offensive season since 2007.
Sharp, 33, has registered 10 goals and 22 assists in 48 games this year and carries a $5.9 million AAV until 2017. His production hasn't fallen off a cliff, but with such a high price tag -- and with Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews' new deals about to kick in -- many have speculated that his time in the Windy City is bound to end soon.
And yet, it's unclear why the Capitals would want to take on that contract. Sharp is going to further deteriorate, and Washington isn't in a position to push all its chips to the center of the table. Sure, the Caps could use a better No. 2 center behind Nicklas Backstrom, but 22-year-old Evgeny Kuznetsov could fill that role as he matures.
