Dustin Brown lays out Corey Perry

The two were bound to clash sooner or later.

What happens when two of the NHL’s dirtiest players slam into each other? Glad you asked.

In the first period of Wednesday's game between the Kings and Ducks, Los Angeles' Dustin Brown collided heavily with Anaheim's Corey Perry near center ice. The hit sent Perry flat on his back and led to a small kerfuffle in the neutral zone.

The most surprising part of this segment is the fact that Brown's hit was clean. After Perry collapsed, Clayton Stoner and Simon Despres got in Brown's face, and all three were assessed minor roughing penalties.

Immediately after play resumed, Jeff Carter scored a power play goal for Los Angeles to give the Kings a 1-0 lead.
