Chicago Blackhawks forward Brandon Saad left the team's game against the Los Angeles Kings on Monday after a nasty head-on collision with Kyle Clifford. Saad was thrust into Clifford by Kings blue liner Drew Doughty.

The left wing suffered a head injury late in the first period against Los Angeles.

— LA Kings (@LAKings) March 31, 2015 Saad promptly went down the tunnel into the Chicago locker room, and Los Angeles tied the game 1-1 shortly thereafter courtesy of a Jake Muzzin tally. The injury doesn't appear to be serious, however, as he returned to the bench for the start of the second period.

It seems the Blackhawks, who are already without Patrick Kane, dodged a bullet here. Saad has emerged as one of the team’s most potent offensive weapons, with 22 goals and 27 assists in 76 contests this season.
