St. Louis' contest against Vancouver on Monday couldn't have gone much worse for the Blues. Not only did they lose, 4-1, and spoil a chance to move within one point of the first-place Nashville Predators, but Vladimir Tarasenko left the game early with an apparent injury. He was seen walking with a slight limp after the game concluded.

The young forward’s night ended early after being tripped up in the third period.

Tarasenko heads off to the locker room. He was slow to get up from that trip. #stlblues #OurBlues
— St. Louis Blues (@StLouisBlues) March 31, 2015 It goes without saying that losing Tarasenko for an extended amount of time would be a huge blow to St. Louis. The gifted Russian has 71 points (36 goals, 35 assists) in 76 games this year, a team-high. While his status remains unclear, it’s encouraging that he was moving around on his own after sustaining the injury, even if he didn’t appear 100 percent.
