Flames vs. Canucks Game 1, 2015 NHL playoffs: Time, TV schedule and how to watch online

The nightcap on the first day of the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs is a long-time Western Canada rivalry.

The final game of opening night in the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs features a Western Canada rivalry as the Calgary Flames travel to visit the Vancouver Canucks in Game 1 of their first-round series. The game is the nightcap of a quadruple-header in the NHL on Wednesday, and puck drop is at 10 p.m. ET.

Scouting the Flames

The Flames success story this season has been nothing but amazing. A team that he been led by Jiri Hudler, Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan has made the playoffs for the first time since the 2008-09 season. The Flames are hoping to get Mark Giordano back at some point these playoffs, but the status of their best defenseman is still way up in the air.

Jonas Hiller will start in goal for the Flames with Karri Ramo sidelined with a lower-body injury.

Scouting the Canucks

The biggest question mark concerning the Canucks right now is who to start in goal. Do they go with Ryan Miller, who is fresh off injury, or Eddie Lack who went on a 12-6-2 run when Miller was out? Canucks head coach Willie Desjardins has not made an official announcement on who will start in Game 1.

“The bottom line is, you go with the guy that you think has the best chance to win the first game,” Desjardins told the Canucks official website this week.

3 questions to answer

1) Will Calgary’s young guns bring their offensive fire to the playoffs?

2) Can Hiller and Ramo get the job done in goal for Calgary?

3) Who will Desjardins look to in goal for Vancouver?
