Nashville jumped out to a quick lead thanks to a trio of early goals, two of which came from Colin Wilson's stick. Wilson, who started the year strong, but fell into a long slump in mid-February, broke the scoreless tie with a wrister 6:07 into regulation and later gave the Preds a 3-0 lead by deflecting a Seth Jones shot from the right point.
In between those tallies, Viktor Stalberg gained a little revenge on his old club by taking advantage of a major Corey Crawford blunder. With a little less than three minutes left in the opening stanza, Crawford left the crease to play the puck behind goal line, but was unable to corral it. Stalberg then gained control, took two steps and slid the puck into an empty cage.
Nashville chased Crawford after 20 minutes, as Joel Quenneville chose to give backup Scott Darling a chance. This proved to be a fantastic decision; Darling, who was in Nashville's system last year, turned away all 42 shots he faced -- including this one from Ryan Ellis.

Patrick Kane, who made his return from a 21-game absence after breaking his collarbone, earned primary assists on Chicago's second and third goals. In addition to Keith, Niklas Hjalmarsson, Patrick Sharp and Jonathan Toews scored for the Blackhawks.
Nashville will try to even the series on Friday at Bridgestone Arena. Opening puck drop is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. ET.
