If we're being honest, us English-listening hockey fans are missing out on a lot. Many broadcasters nowadays often use the crowd noise to carry the narratives after big goals. Listen to Finnish broadcasters call Kasperi Kapanen’s golden World Juniors goal
Everything’s better in Finnish.

There’s nothing wrong with that approach! But, there’s something about the rush of emotion from a broadcaster in the heat of the moment after a goal that we don’t often experience. For example, take this Finnish commentator’s call on Kasperi Kapanen’s gold medal-winning goal in overtime that lifted Finland over Russia, 4-3, earlier on Tuesday.
