Capitals fans helped sing the national anthem after the singer’s mic was cut out

They may need some singing lessons, though.

The NHL has had themselves a great week for national anthem news. There was St. Louis’ a capella rendition for Veterans Day, then the Panthers had Navy SEALs rappel from the rafters after theirs.

Now, hockey fans in Verizon Center have continued the mood with their generosity after the mic of Washington’s anthem singer cut out in the middle of his rendition.

It’s not the prettiest thing you’ll hear, but it’s a nice gesture from the fans all the same.
