We don’t want to say we told you so, we really don’t. But, we did say that Mitch Marner might just be on Auston Matthews’ level earlier this month, and he’s proving us right so far.
Mitch Marner just deked a netminder out of his skates on an amazing solo effort goal
Auston Matthews isn’t the only threat in Toronto.

His latest goal, a incredible solo effort that put the Maple Leafs up, 3-1, on the Panthers, is just the most recent example of Marner’s dominance.
Take a look:

That’s a goal scorer’s goal if I’ve ever seen one. If it’s not Marner’s ability to keep his focus with a Panthers player draped all over him that wows you, it’s his scary set of moves he puts on former Maple Leaf netminder James Reimer. What a goal for the 19-year-old.
