Tucson Roadrunners captain Craig Cunningham is under observation at a hospital.

Arizona Coyotes coach and executive vice president of hockey operations Dave Tippett offered the update on Cunningham’s situation on Monday:
The Roadrunners, the AHL affiliate of the Coyotes, were moments away from puck drop against the Manitoba Moose when Cunningham collapsed on the ice.
Trainers and firefighters cut through Cunningham’s jersey and administered CPR to him in the tunnel before taking him to a local hospital. Arizona Coyotes general manager John Chayka updated Cunningham’s situation late Saturday night, only to say that he suffered a “medical emergency” before the game and was receiving medical treatment.
Cunningham, 26, was a fourth-round draft pick by the Boston Bruins in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He only appeared in two NHL games with the franchise, spending most of his first four pro seasons with the AHL’s Providence Bruins. He was claimed off waivers by the Coyotes in the 2014-15 season and has been a mainstay for their AHL teams ever since.
Last season, he was named captain of the Springfield Falcons before their move to Tucson this season.
Coyotes players and the Bruins spent the weekend tweeting their support for Cunningham.
