Predators player manages to foil his own goal by saving it with his stick

This is almost unbelievable.

Craig Smith might want to take up goaltending after this.

Smith had an open net chance for the Predators in a 1-1 game against the Canadiens. He missed it ... by hitting the puck backwards with his own stick after the release.

The hockey gods did take pity on Smith, as he nailed the shootout winner to pull the Predators to a 2-1 win over Montreal.

Justice!
