NHL rookie Shayne Gostisbehere’s autograph predictably features a ghost and a bear

He might need a bit more practice though.

Looks like Shayne Gostisbehere has accepted his fan nickname. Called among Flyers fans as "Ghost Bear" -- thanks to his last name that's hard to pronounce and ridiculous to spell -- the rookie has taken the NHL by storm recently. Gostisbehere broke the NHL rookie defenseman record for consecutive games with a point, a streak which tapped out at 15 games on Tuesday in a 3-1 loss to the Hurricanes.

Even though the streak is over, the legend of the Ghost Bear still lives on. The rookie has become one of the only NHL players to have his nickname spelled out by emojis, more specifically the ghost and bear emojis. It’s become so popular that fans have been selling T-shirts and other apparel with the pair of emojis.

Now, Gostisbehere himself has accepted the moniker full stop by using the images in his own autograph.

To be fair, the drawing was at the request of a fan at the spur of the moment. Gostisbehere might want to get in a bit more practice for the future, however, as his nickname seems to be sticking around for good.
