Islanders goalie dives across open net to make a terrific glove save

When the New York Islanders lost starting goalie Jaroslav Halak to injury a week ago, their situation in net looked grim.

Not anymore. In just his fourth start of the season on Wednesday, Isles rookie Jean-Francois Berube made 22 saves to drag New York out of a four-game slide and back into the playoff hunt.

It didn't hurt that he pulled off one of the best saves of any goalie this year. Early in the first period, the Ottawa Senators pulled Berube out of position with a great scoring chance. He somehow leapt across the goal mouth for one of the year's best robberies:

That kid goes to his left better than post-2010 Derek Jeter.
