Alexei Emelin should probably time those big hits better.
Rangers winger toe-drags through Canadiens defender for a sweet goal
A big hit led to a big goal.

The veteran Montreal Canadiens defenseman decided to take a chance early against the New York Rangers on Saturday and paid for it. The Rangers were carrying the puck through the neutral zone quickly, and Emelin thought he could dislodge it from New York center Derek Stepan before he crossed mid-ice.
Which he kind of did. He laid a huge hit on Stepan, but then J.T. Miller picked up the puck and pulled this off on the only Habs defender left in the vicinity.

I’d say big hits sometimes aren’t worth it, but as an impartial fan, that great goal was totally worth it.
