On a day when the hockey world was focused on the NHL’s concussion lawsuit, a junior hockey player threw the kind of dangerous hit that the sport is trying to erase from the game.
Canadian junior hockey player ejected for violent check to the head
A suspension is likely.

The London Knights lead the Owen Sound Attack 2-1 in the first round of the OHL playoffs. The Knights led the Attack 5-3 late in the second period when Knights forward Max Jones threw a hit on an unsuspecting Attack forward, Justin Brack.
If that seemed violent on first viewing, it was. A slower camera angle shows the head was the principle point of contact on the play:

Brack needed help off to the locker room from teammates. Jones was immediately ejected from the game for an illegal check to the head and can probably expect a lengthy suspension.
