NHL playoffs schedule 2016: Capitals look to finish off Flyers, Kings can tie series in San Jose

Our first elimination game of the 2016 Stanley Cup playoffs comes down on Wednesday night, followed by three chances for other teams to push their opponents to the brink as well.

The Washington Capitals carry a 3-0 series lead into Game 4 against the Philadelphia Flyers at 7 p.m. ET. Washington has annihilated the Flyers on special teams in this series, including scoring five goals on nine power play chances in Game 3. After the debacle on Monday, the Flyers will at least try to save face in Game 4.

The Panthers’ inability to hold a lead in their first round series came back to haunt them again in Game 3, as the New York Islanders rallied to take a 2-1 series lead in overtime. Florida will rely on their best line of Jaromir Jagr, Aleksander Barkov and Jonathan Huberdeau to stake them to an early lead again.

The Dallas Stars were flummoxed in a Game 3 loss in Minnesota on Monday, failing to reach 20 shots on goal for just the fourth time all season. Tyler Seguin will miss his fourth straight playoff game with an injury, but Dallas could get defenseman Kris Russell back. Zach Parise and Thomas Vanek remain out for the Wild.

San Jose has to be feeling the pressure after the Kings stunned them in overtime at home in Game 3. Los Angeles rallied from a series deficit to beat San Jose last season, and the Sharks will look to avoid history repeating when Game 4 kicks off at 10:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
