The Panthers would just like a chance to win their first playoff series ever, so you can dispense with your fluffy Islanders narratives. The reality is that the Panthers have outplayed their opponents throughout the series; they just haven't been able to close out any of those games. This has been the tightest Stanley Cup playoffs series yet, and the Panthers just hope something falls their way for once.
Scouting the Islanders
Thomas Greiss proved he can go toe-to-toe with Roberto Luongo if the game goes to overtime. That just adds to the confidence the Islanders must have against a young and inexperienced Panthers team. New York hasn't even had a 3-2 series lead in the first round since 1993.
