Team Canada adds fresh faces to their final 2016 World Cup of Hockey roster

A changing of the guard.

Team Canada may have won the gold medal in the Olympics just two years ago, but that didn't keep them from overhauling a large chunk of their 2016 World Cup of Hockey roster.

Nine players named to the final roster on Friday were not on that team in 2014. Those players include forwards Matt Duchene, Claude Giroux, Brad Marchand, and Joe Thornton, as well as Brent Burns, Jake Muzzin and Alex Pietrangelo on the blueline.

As usual, Canada is stacked with elite NHL talent. Jamie Benn and Sidney Crosby are both finalists for the Hart Trophy this season. Drew Doughty and Burns are finalists for the Norris Trophy. Braden Holtby is a Vezina Trophy finalist.
