Not only is goaltending seemingly optional in Winnipeg tonight — apparently, the Jets’ defense is missing as well. At least, that’s what it felt like on Phillip Danault’s second goal of the night.
This Canadiens forward went coast-to-coast down the ice for an incredible goal
Phillip Danault is a magician here.

With the Canadiens already leading 4-2 through the first 21 minutes of the game, Danault went around all five Jets players on the ice on an incredible end-to-end goal.
An assist most definitely has to be given to Winnipeg’s invisible defense, which gave hardly any resistance to Danault on his way down the ice. Seriously Jets, what are you doing out there?
The real credit, however, has to go to Danault and his moves that got him from his own red line to the face-off dot in the Jets’ zone. Simply magic.
