Vancouver Canucks winger Loui Eriksson endured one of the scariest hits of the NHL season thus far on Thursday, and it wasn’t immediately clear that he came out of it unscathed.
Canucks’ Loui Eriksson dazed, keeps playing after hit to head from two Flyers
No concussion spotters pulled him aside.

Midway through the third period of a tight 4-4 game, Eriksson went to gather the puck along the boards at center ice. When he did, two Philadelphia Flyers converged on him at the same time. And both of them made contact with Eriksson’s head.
As you can tell by his slip at center ice, Eriksson was feeling the effects of the collision immediately. As he reached the bench and sat down it was pretty clear he was struggling.
The Canucks trainer tried to gauge how he was feeling at multiple points. At first, Eriksson shook him off. At one point he appeared to express frustration with the fact no penalty was called.
Eriksson did not miss a shift and continued playing.
