Jets goaltender stretches out for stick save on wide open net

The nerves have calmed for Ondrej Pavelec.

Ondrej Pavelec had a nightmare start to his first NHL game since April 9 of last year. The recent Jets goaltender call up allowed a goal on his first shot of the season to the Coyotes on Wednesday night.

Since, Pavelec has settled down and actually had some great saves in net for Winnipeg. His best? This beauty of a stick save on Radim Vrbata.

Vrbata had Pavelec beat if he had one-timed the puck from the circle. Yet, the Jets goaltender kept his balance and stopped a sure-fire goal that would have cut Winnipeg’s lead down to just one.

Yep, the nerves are 100 percent gone.
