The No. 2 overall pick did not look good after this hit.

Fans of the Philadelphia Flyers have found their worst nightmares realized on Tuesday evening. In the second period of a close game against the Anaheim Ducks, No. 2 overall draft pick Nolan Patrick left the ice after sustaining a hard check into the boards.

On a play in the corner, Patrick took a shoulder hit from Chris Wagner that caused his head to whiplash against the glass hard.

The play by Wagner was clean, but the force of the hit was so hard that Patrick clearly gets shaken up when his head smacks the glass.

It took a few moments for Patrick to collect himself on the ice, and he left the game in the second period with the help of trainers.

Though we’re not in the business of guessing on injuries, it seems as if a concussion is a real concern for Patrick here. Patrick crumpled to the ice after the hit holding his head, and going off the ice he was clearly woozy.

Given the state of concussions in the NHL, Patrick was pulled from the game and was spotted in the Flyers press box in a suit after the end of the second period.
