Jimmy Vesey may have the grossest hockey injury of all time here.

If the headline didn’t give this post away, there’s a Real Gross hockey injury inbound within the next couple hundred words. I read through these tweets so you didn’t have too, so turn back if you must.

Anyway! Jimmy Vesey got quite the injury during the New York Rangers vs. Edmonton Oilers game Saturday afternoon. Vesey and Zack Kassian got tangled up with one another, causing the Edmonton forward’s skate to graze Vesey in the face as the players were falling over.

The result? Not pretty at all. Vesey came away with a bloody face, though with no immediate serious injury.

It wasn’t until later, when Vesey tweeted that he lost some teeth — with a picture of an x-ray showing teeth stuck in his lower lip — that we found out the extent of this gross injury.

According to Sportsnet, Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault elaborated that Vesey lost more than one tooth in his lip.

“He’s got a couple teeth right now in his lip … they’re going to find a way to take them out... Hockey will be hockey, eh?”

Now, we’ve seen some weird and gross hockey injuries in the past. This one, however, involving losing teeth in one’s lip may just take the cake. We’re sorry you had to scroll all the way through this.
