Radko Gudas could be spending some time in the press box for this unwarranted slash, if NHL’s supplemental discipline has any say in the matter.
Radko Gudas tossed from Philadelphia Flyers game after slashing game misconduct penalty
Mathieu Perreault was OK after taking this chop to the back of the head from Gudas.

The Philadelphia Flyers’ defenseman took himself out of Thursday night’s game against the Winnipeg Jets after taking his stick to the back of forward Mathieu Perreault’s head.
The play was originally called as concurrent minor penalties to Perreault (high-sticking) and Gudas (slashing), though after the referees got a better look at the play, the Flyers’ defenseman was given a game misconduct and tossed from the match.
The reverse angle of the slash doesn’t look very good for Gudas’ chances either in avoiding a possible suspension.
While there’s a lot being made of the intent of Gudas’ slash, the call was right on the ice in tossing the defenseman from the game. Gudas was reckless in his use of his stick, and that alone could give cause for a suspension since the defenseman has had problems with his impulse control before.
Gudas was previously suspended last October for six games after hitting Austin Czarnik high during a game against the Boston Bruins. Since Gudas is considered a repeat offender by NHL standards, the league will likely take a close look at the play before considering supplemental discipline.
