The Karjala Cup is an annual hockey tournament played by national teams in Finland, where jersey advertisements are commonplace. The tournament itself is named after a Finnish beer brand (that somehow has a 1 percent rating on RateBeer.com), so it’s fair to say they don’t shy away from the commercial aspects of the event.
Jhonas Enroth’s new goalie pads are head and shoulders above the rest
Forget jersey advertisements. Enroth is taking it to the next level at the Karjala Cup.
This is something former NHL goaltender Jhonas Enroth has embraced as he suits up for Sweden. Via BarDown, he’s apparently using pads that feature huge bottles of shampoo:
Stopping pucks and stopping dandruff at the same time: Amazing.
This also isn’t the first time that a Swedish goaltender has expressed his passion for hair products. Here’s Henrik Lundqvist in a Head and Shoulders commercial from a few years ago:
I don’t think any NHL fan is hoping for more advertisements on equipment anytime soon, but we respect the hustle in encouraging everyone to have gorgeous, luscious, flowing hair like Henrik.
