Everyone has been there before. You think that person in front of you is going for the fist bump, so you go for it, too, only to realize that you’re just some guy waving his hand in the air like a moron. So you do the only natural thing left to do: Fist bump yourself because obviously that was the plan all along. I was not left hanging, idiot, I was fist bumping myself.
Please fist bump Evgeny Kuznetsov so he stops doing it himself

This is the most I have identified with an NHL player in weeks. Not only does Kuznetsov go for the failed fist bump, but he does it twice. Brett Connolly is clearly much too focused on re-watching his goal on the replay screen, however, so Kuznetsov settles for being his own teammate.
As much as I enjoy flashbacks to middle school, somebody on the Capitals needs to hook Kuznetsov up with a fist bump next time. He’s just out there on his own, a lone maverick looking for someone to dap with. Don’t leave him hanging!
