Over the course of his 13 years in the NHL, Shea Weber has proven to be one of the most dangerous shooters around. The power that comes from his 6’4, 230-pound frame is legendary enough that there’s a running list of victims injured trying to block his shots.
Shea Weber curves a shot into the net for his 500th NHL point
We’re not entirely sure how he did this.

But for the Montreal Canadiens defenseman’s 500th career point in the NHL, he didn’t use power to score. Instead, he channeled David Beckham by somehow bending a shot around St. Louis Blues netminder Jake Allen’s skate for the goal. Seriously, what kind of dark magic is this:
Allen likely thought he successfully moved from post to post to stop Weber’s shot, but instead it takes a curved path around the goalie and into the net. It’s one of the weirdest shots I’ve ever seen, and it naturally comes from a player who’s best known for firing straight-line lasers that you can hardly see.
Weber added another goal in the Habs’ 4-3 victory, and now has 501 points in 863 games in his career. No defenseman has recorded more goals, and only Duncan Keith has recorded more points, since Weber joined the NHL in 2005. With shots like this, you can see why.
