The Minnesota Wild have a lot of ground to make up.

After failing to split their home half of the series against the Blues, they fell into a two-game hole with a pair of games in St. Louis on the horizon. Now, Sunday is essentially a must-win game for the Wild or they’ll fall to a three-game deficit with their Stanley Cup hopes on the line.

First, they’ll need to best Jake Allen, who is by far the MVP of this series thus far. The Blues starter has allowed two goals on 78 shots through the first two games, an incredible feat considering Allen’s struggles earlier in the year.

In a series brimming with offensive talent, the story has so far been Allen’s play. The Blues have won both games by scores of 2-1 and the major offensive players on both sides have been mostly silent.

Not only will the Wild have to learn to beat Allen, and quickly, they’ll have to do it on the road.
