That sound you heard was thousands of hockey fans screaming in terror after Braden Holtby decided to take matters into his own hands on a Maple Leafs breakaway.
Braden Holtby left his net to stop a Maple Leafs breakaway near the blue line
This could have gone so BADLY.

After a failed Capitals 5-on-3 opportunity, the Maple Leafs had two players exit the box and immediately break to the Washington net. As the puck was dangerously heading toward the possession of Mitch Marner, Holtby jumped out of his net and slid to poke check it away.
Except, he had to abandon his net completely on a gamble.
This wasn’t the first time this year Holtby gambled on an adventure out of his own net, but it was certainly the most dangerous attempt. Had Holtby missed, Marner would have had an empty net to shoot in to tie the game for Toronto.
Instead, we have maybe the most incredible moment of the playoffs so far.
