The 20-year-old was taken into the boards on a hit from Robert Bortuzzo.

A scary scene unfolded in St. Louis early in the second period of the Blues and Predators second round opener.
Nashville forward Kevin Fiala and St. Louis defenseman Robert Bortuzzo got tangled up coming into the boards in the opening moments of the second period. The result was a horrible collision, as Fiala was crunched between the Blues defenseman and the boards.
Play was stopped just seconds after the hit, as Fiala was in clear pain on the ice. Trainers rushed out to assist the Predators forward, and a stretcher was eventually brought out to wheel him off the ice.

The game was additionally delayed as a second ambulance was needed on site in St. Louis to replace the first one.
Fiala had two goals in four games for the Predators so far this postseason. The forward was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition.
