LA Kings announcer Bob Miller got to call an overtime winner in his final home game

The legendary broadcaster has been with the Kings for 44 years.

We’d be lucky enough to do our jobs as well as Bob Miller has during his 57-year broadcasting career.

Miller, the voice of the Los Angeles Kings for the last 44 years, has called his last game in the booth at the Staples Center. Saturday afternoon, the Kings played their last home game of the 2016-17 season, signaling the beginning of the end of Miller’s career as the 78-year-old is retiring after the regular season.

The broadcasting veteran will have one more game to call tomorrow in Anaheim, but Miller’s sendoff in Los Angeles was quite the spectacle.

Fans signed a giant “Thank you Bob” sign in front of the Staples Center.

The Staples Center itself also was decked out with signs and rally towels.

Miller himself even penned an extremely heartfelt letter to Kings fans in the video below. Get the tissues out, folks.

And finally, Miller got the greatest gift of all. The Kings tied the game with five minutes left to send the game to overtime, where they won!

Miller’s call on the game winner is quite something.

That wasn’t all either, as Jonathan Quick gave Miller the game puck after the victory.

Not a dry eye in the house, or here.
