Ducks starting goaltender John Gibson is the latest player to fall victim to injury in the Western Conference Final.

Gibson played just 20 minutes in Game 5 against the Predators on Saturday before Jonathan Bernier was substituted into the game to start the second period. The cause of Gibson’s removal and Bernier’s replacement is due to a lower-body injury, and he is questionable to return to the game. The Ducks’ starter faced a flurry of shots near the end of the first period that caused the netminder to go across his crease a number of times.

The 23-year-old netminder is no stranger to groin injuries.

Gibson has started in 15 games so far this postseason, with nine wins and a .917 save percentage. Saturday’s game is Bernier’s first action in net since May 7, when Edmonton dismantled the Ducks 7-1 and the backup came in to stop the bleeding.

Bernier played in 39 games this season and ended the year with a .915 save percentage.
