Going into double overtime in Game 7 between the Penguins and Senators, many Pittsburgh fans likely think their team should have been packing up with a 3-2 win.
Penguins fans fooled by optical illusion goal that was not a goal
Sorry, Pittsburgh.

Late in the first overtime of a tied 2-2 game, the Penguins rushed Craig Anderson and the Senators net. Phil Kessel had a prime chance to score in tight, but the puck somehow went up and over the Senators net. Play continued, but during a stoppage fans in Pittsburgh saw this replay.
From the above angle, it LOOKS like the Penguins shot goes in and out quite definitively. Unfortunately for Pittsburgh, the actual chance looked like this.
Clearly, that play isn’t a goal. Sadly, the Penguins in-arena staff did not show the side angle and left many booing and throwing towels on the ice in rage after the first overtime.
