This opening goal by the Predators couldn’t possibly have been taken away. And good thing too, because this goal from Pontus Aberg is a beauty.

Midway through the first period of Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Penguins, the Predators got out to a 1-0 lead thanks to Aberg’s second goal of the postseason.

The Penguins defenseman getting undressed on that play is Olli Maatta, as Aberg goes through his legs. Matt Murray is unable to keep up with Aberg on the play, and the Predators forward gets a wide-open cage to shoot at as the Penguins netminder goes down.

The goal gave the Predators a 1-0 lead, but the Penguins tied the game up 1-1 near the end of the first period.
