Win or face doom.

Two teams are down to their last gasps of playoff air on Saturday. One figuratively, the other quite literally.

The Washington Capitals return home for Game 5, down 3-1 to the Pittsburgh Penguins and facing an early playoff exit yet again. For the umpteenth time, winning the regular season points title hasn’t made advancing to the Eastern Conference final any easier for Washington, who is struggling to compete with a Penguins team missing three of its biggest stars: Kris Letang, Sidney Crosby and Matt Murray.

Crosby skated on Friday, meaning he could return from his concussion for Game 5.

Meanwhile, the Senators have more life left in them as they host the Rangers for Game 5 on Saturday afternoon. But that series is tied at 2-2 and Ottawa captain Erik Karlsson is in a lot of pain; facing an elimination Game 6 in New York is inadvisable, making this a must-win game for the Senators.
