The St. Louis Blues celebrated their 50th season as an NHL franchise this year. They ended that celebratory year in familiar fashion on Sunday: bowing out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs at least two rounds earlier than they hoped.
NHL playoff scores 2017: Ducks somehow one-up eliminated Blues with playoff misery
Anaheim feels like Jake Allen does in that picture.

And yet, you could make a pretty good argument the Blues had a better day than the Anaheim Ducks.
After all, that was just one super-sad GIF from our Blues blog. Look at this Tweet from our Ducks blog.
Five goals against in the first period will do that to a fan base. Poor things.
Scores
Predators 3, Blues 1 (NSH wins series, 4-2)
Oilers 7, Ducks 1 (series tied, 3-3)
Three Things
Where no Pred has gone before
With their own anniversary up next year (their 20th), the Predators made franchise history on Sunday by advancing to the Western Conference final for the first time. Hard to believe, right? Barry Trotz’s teams always seemed like playoff contenders, especially over the last decade or so. But this is uncharted territory and we can’t wait to see them and their rowdy fans experience it.
Leon Draisaitl might be your Conn Smythe favorite soon
All apologies to Pekka Rinne, who has this fun stat on his resume:
But Draisaitl broke the Ducks’ back with a hat trick in Game 6, giving him 11 points in 11 playoff games.
P.K. Subban learned that reporting is not easy!
Impact Moment
What else? The moment Calle Jarnkrok sealed Predators’ history and sent fans and his bench into ecstatic oblivion.
