Sidney Crosby finally has an edge over his fellow Penguins superstar in the Stanley Cup playoffs hardware race.
Sidney Crosby wins Conn Smythe Trophy as Stanley Cup playoffs MVP
Crosby joins an exclusive list of multiple Conn Smythe winners.

Crosby and Evgeni Malkin won their third Stanley Cup together on Sunday after a Game 6 win in Nashville, but it was Crosby taking home the Conn Smythe Trophy for the second time in his career and second year in a row.
Malkin earned the NHL’s playoffs MVP award when the Penguins won the Cup in 2009.
He had a good case this season, too, having led the playoffs in points heading into Game 6. But Crosby’s performance in the Stanley Cup Final likely sealed his case. Crosby scored a goal and made six assists in six Final games. That was enough to draw neck-and-neck with Malkin in the points race; Malkin had led the playoffs in points since the first round against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Crosby becomes just the seventh player in NHL history to win multiple Conn Smythes, joining Patrick Roy (3), Mario Lemieux (2), Wayne Gretzky (2), Bernie Parent (2), and Bobby Orr (2).
The Penguins’ captain is also a finalist for the Hart Trophy, the NHL’s regular season MVP award.
