NHL awards 2017: Connor McDavid wins his first Hart Trophy
The NHL’s MVP of the year tallied 100 points this past season.

McDavid put up 100 points in 82 games this season for the Oilers, as Edmonton made the postseason for the first time since 2006. Much of the Oilers’ success falls on McDavid’s shoulders, as his 70 assists led the league by a mile and his 1.22 points per game pace also was tops in the NHL this season.
In order to win his first Hart Trophy, McDavid bested Sidney Crosby and Sergei Bobrovsky for the award. Crosby was second behind McDavid in scoring this year with 89 points in 75 games, while Bobrovsky carried the Blue Jackets to 41 wins behind a .931 save percentage and seven shutouts.
McDavid, 20, is the youngest player to win the Hart since Crosby himself won it in 2007.
