Two days ago, the Nashville Predators star player made a pretty bold claim: the Predators would come home, down 2-0 in the series, and win Game 3 over the Pittsburgh Penguins. Full stop.
P.K. Subban’s bold Stanley Cup Final win prediction was absolutely correct
Nashville brought it in Game 3, just like he said.

You can see why he said that: the Predators had hardly been outplayed at that point. But it’s quite a walk out on a limb any time a player makes a win guarantee in a Stanley Cup Final.
Well. Subban was right, in more ways than one. The Predators erased a 1-0 deficit and shaky start with three goals in the second period to win Game 3 on Saturday. Subban looks like a confident savant and the Predators look alive and well in this series.
The important bit in that prediction, though, is his comments on winning in the building. There’s no question the Predators’ fans were a big factor in the win, from pelting the ice with catfish throughout the game to ear-splitting chants usually heard only in major European soccer stadiums.
Subban and his teammates had to feel confident knowing they had that kind of home-ice advantage waiting for them, making Subban’s bold prediction less of a prediction and more of a vote of confidence in the whole franchise. Good for him, good for them, and good for their fans. They aren’t out of the self-dug hole yet, though. Nashville can tie the series with a win at home in Game 4 next week or face a deciding Game 5 in Pittsburgh with a loss.
