The Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Philadelphia Flyers in all four regular season meetings, and it looks like more of the same in Game 1 of their first-round Stanley Cup playoff series. Pittsburgh blitzed Philadelphia with three goals in the first period to take a quick lead.

After a Bryan Rust lit the lamp just 2:38 into the game, Patrick Hornqvist found Carl Hagelin in front of the net for another tally.

Evgeni Malkin, the Penguins leading scorer during the regular season, weaved his way in for Pittsburgh’s third goal of the period.

In the Penguins’ four wins against the Flyers in the regular season they scored exactly five goals in each game. They are well on their way on Wednesday night.
