The Bob Baffert trained Game On Dude headlines the field for Saturday’s $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1), last year’s runner up installed as the 9-5 morning line betting favorite.
Breeders Cup Classic wagering odds: Game On Dude morning line favorite
Game On Dude was runnerup in the 2011 edition of the Breeders Cup Classic, but he went off as the morning line favorite for the 2012 edition at Santa Anita.

Since running second to upset winner Drosselmeyer last year in the Classic, the five-year-old gelding has won three of four starts, last out taking the Awesome Again (G1) over the Santa Anita main track.
The gelding had a new jockey aboard for his last outing, Rafael Bejarano replacing Chantal Sutherland, who had ridden the gelding in his previous nine starts, according to Michael Dempsey, lead handicapper at Turfnsport.com.
Trainer Bill Mott, who saddled last year’s winner Drosselmeyer sends out a trio of runners: Jockey Club Gold Cup (G1) winner Flat Out (5-1), Santa Anita Handicap (G1) winner Ron the Greek (6-1), and Woodward (G1) winner To Honor and Serve (8-1).
Flat Out was the beaten favorite in last year’s race, checking in fifth, while To Honor and Serve was seventh at 9-1 in last year’s running.
Fort Larned (5-1), who won the Whitney Handicap (G1) and Mucho Macho Man, (8-1), who has won three of five starts this year including the Suburban Handicap (G2) figure to take some action at the betting windows.
Completing the field are Hawthorne Gold Cup (G2) winner Pool Play (30-1), Travers (G1) winner Alpha (20-1), Awesome Again third place finisher Richard’s Kid (12-1), Bowling Green (G2) third place finisher Brilliant Speed (20-1), Pennsylvania Derby (G2) victor Handsome Mike (30-1), and Awesome Again runner up Nonios (20-1).
The Classic will be televised live in prime time on NBC during a one-hour telecast that gets underway at 8:00 ET.
