Many of baseball’s top pitchers go today and, not surprisingly, bettors see a slew of extremely low totals on the MLB odds menu because of it.

Put Josh Johnson against Roy Halladay and you get an over-under of 6. Stephen Strasburg against Johan Santana merits a total of 6.5.
Put James Shields against reigning Cy Young winner Justin Verlander and see the total plunge to 7.
“So many sub-8 totals on a single day is unusual, but it’s an early-season game where pitching is ahead of hitting and you have serious arms on the hill,” said Mike Pickett of OddsShark.com.
“There were two games with totals of 6.5 yesterday and both went under the total, part of a 7-4 run for under bettors.”
