Favorites went 9-6 in 15 games Wednesday, led by the Phillies, Yankees and Dodgers. But the biggest favorite on the board lost, according to OddsShark.com. In that game, -230 favorite Texas lost 4-3 at home to +190 Seattle.
Tampa Bay also won as a +160 underdog, winning at Detroit. That moves the Rays into third place among the best early baseball teams to bet on. Wagering $100 on Tampa every game would have produced a $387 profit so far.
The 5-1 Dodgers have been the most profitable MLB team so far (up $415 for a $100 bettor), according to the profit standings. The Dodgers opened as -150 favorites again today against the Pirates.
