NFL Week 7 odds: 5 road favorites among opening spreads

The big favorites in Week 7 do not include the usual suspects in Denver and New England. Green Bay is the biggest home chalk and San Diego is the biggest road favorite.

Doug Pensinger

For the first time in many weeks, Denver is not the biggest favorite on the board.

The Week 7 honor of being the biggest chalk goes to Green Bay, which opened as 11.5-point favorites to visiting Cleveland.

Still, the Broncos were laying six points as they head to Indianapolis for Peyton Manning’s return. It’s a game that sees number solid trends favoring Colts bettors, including the 5-0 ATS run against the Broncos and the 7-0 ATS run in their last seven games as home underdogs.

Seattle opened as 7-point chalk at Arizona, but the Cardinals have owned the Seahawks in recent years (7-1 SU and ATS). That game goes Thursday as the Cards try to avoid their eighth straight division loss.

San Diego, which ground out a Monday Night win over the Colts, lay nine points at Jacksonville. All five career meetings have played OVER and the Chargers have played OVER in 13 of the past 14 seasons before a bye week.

Six teams are headed to their bye weeks, forcing NFL bettors to focus on bye week angles in Week 7. Opening numbers courtesy of 5Dimes.eu.
